A Bittersweet Day

This morning I learned that 2 of our elderly members' bodies have died. Vasanthamma, abandoned by her husband years ago, suffered a lot from diabetes-related problems. Chandraiah, whose wife died a few months ago, also suffered with diabetes and high blood pressure. We call it "bittersweet", knowing that their suffering is over, and we have the blessed hope that they will spend eternity in the glory of GOD. Praise the Lord! Below is Ruthamma, also abandoned by her husband years ago. She has had polio since she was a very small child. She has had some mental impairment since we have known her (about 2019), but still has been able to converse, sing, and comes to church regularly. Please pray for Ruthamma, as she is getting thinner and weaker.

Sharing JESUS in the Streets

Brother Philip is sharing the Gospel in a village street, this street by the homes of 3 children we work with regularly. No problem to share about the Lord in this particular location, as many of the people in this area attend local churches. Philip is the father of Pavani, her husband Raju leading our children's ministry. This meeting was conducted on the 19th of this month, part of our Christmas Gospel schedule leading up to Christmas Day. If the Lord lays it on your heart, pray for lasting fruit and the salvation of souls as a result of these meetings, a total of 10 meetings conducted from the 16th to the 25th.

Precious Staff Members for RHM

On December 18th there was a staff meeting for those carrying out the ministry in India. They shared a meal together and had a time of singing, sharing the Word and prayer. They all received some new clothes, a new journal and a carry bag of some kind. From left are: Pavani (children's ministry), Jhansi (widows & elderly ministry), Mary (children's ministry), Pavani (children's ministry), Prasanthi (administration work), Prasanth (overseeing much of the ministry and Prasanthi's husband), Wesley (widows & elderly ministry), Raju (children's ministry and Pavani's husband) and Marthababu (children's ministry and Pavani's husband, the Pavani to the far left). Please pray for our staff, for His anointing upon the ministry and blessing upon all their lives. Pray for Mary (has been very sick for months) and Prasanthi, now in her 4th month of pregnancy.

13th Birthday, Prayer Requests

Bhavya (11, left) and Havila (12, right) are giving cake to Nafiya on her 13th birthday December 14th. I (Dan) like Nafiya very much, part of a Muslim family who live next door to a church we're connected with. Now that I'm currently in the USA (visa problems returning to India), I miss being able to visit their home. Because of strong opposition from Muslim community elders, most of the Islamic people will not visit the church, but some do. Several of the local children also attend children's activities. If it weren't for persecution and threats, I'm confident some of Nafiya's family would attend (she lives with grandparents, her parents, a brother and some other relatives on her property). Pray for open hearts to receive the Gospel in their family and community.

Another prayer request: Bhavya and Havila are 2 girls who have been staying with Sister Mary. Mary has given her life for children's ministry, and these girls were needing a home (problems in their own families). Sadly, Sister Mary has had a chronic illness for years, and now on top of that, has tuberculosis. Her health has become critical, and now she has gone to stay with her own parents for some time. Pray for His healing touch so that she can return to work with the children, as she so much desires to do.

Families in Need

The people below are probably all related, part of a "tribal" village we have been assisting for years, located only a few blocks from a church we are closely connected with. The 2 women on the sides (Rangamma on the left and her daughter Muthyalu on the right) have given their hearts to the Lord. Muthyalu's daughter and son-in-law have also come to Christ, but these 4 are the only adults sincerely trying to walk with the Lord. The husbands/fathers in this type of village are typically drinkers and sometimes abusive.. They worry about each other's approval far more than they have concern for their soul. Perhaps most of the people would call themselves Hindu, but in reality they are spiritually disinterested, bound by unbelief. Please pray for these precious souls; it's very difficult to reach the children, as they have little or no proper discipline or structure in their lives, especially the boys. Girls are often married off by 13 or 14 years old.

Continue to pray also for a generous outpouring of end of the year donations to RHM, which would help us so much as we go into 2025.
