The birthdays are a good opportunity to introduce you to our children, as well as other children that we might not be supporting, but whom we have involvement with. The top photo is Jone on his 17th birthday September 18th. It's nice to see his mother with a little smile, as she rarely smiled when we first met her in 2021. Her husband died in 2020 after taking big loans, which she inherited. He also beat her, causing bad headaches. She was married at 11 years old and unable to have children for 22 years. Jone is her miracle child. Several years later (when she was in her late 30's), she had Jaison.
The lower photo is of Manu (right) on her 11th birthday September 21st, along with her happy little sister, Kavya. We don't support these girls, as their parents are living and working, but we're happy that they often are able to participate in our meetings or Sister Mary's after-school tutoring. Please pray for Jone, Manu and their families.
