RHM January Update

New Things, RHM January Update

Looking to the Lord for "new things" in 2026, "even a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:18-19  Nothing is impossible for our GOD, so we continue to look for the impossible. Please take a few minutes to see the latest from the ministry in India. Below is Brother Raju teaching some precious boys in one of their homes (story in update).

Praying for India on Republic Day

Republic Day in India is celebrated because it's the day of the adoption of its constitution and the transition to a sovereign republic on January 26th, 1950. One internet search shows that India was under British rule for about 200 years until its independence in 1947. So what you see in the photos below is typical of what happens every January 26th among the Lord's people all over India, PRAYING for the nation of India. Especially praying for the salvation of many more souls. India is estimated (by some sources) to be 80% Hindus, 12% Muslim, maybe 3% Christian, and the rest a multitude of other beliefs. So obviously, there's way over one BILLION people in need of a Savior in India! In the 1st photo Brother Prasanth is leading the gathering in prayer. In the 2nd photo the people are either praying or possibly singing the national anthem.

A Few Elderly Still Receiving Medication

This is Sister Aruna, one of our widows, after receiving some medication for her paralysis. Although we have had to downsize the widows & elderly ministry, we are still giving medications to several who are in more need, including 4 who are taking paralysis medication. We have been helping Aruna with this for over 2 years after she had one or 2 strokes. Her husband died about 20 years ago. She had 3 children. One of her 2 sons died in a drowning accident at the beach. His wife then died; some are thinking from depression, but no sure information. Then, because of family conflicts her only daughter set herself on fire when her 2nd child was only 2 months old. After one month she died. The children's father wouldn't keep them, so Aruna kept them for a few years. The father died of cancer a few years later. Now Aruna's grandson is with another relative, and Aruna still has the granddaughter, now 14 years old. This girl, Sai Bhavya, is one of the children we are helping to care for through your donations. Because of the strokes, Aruna and Bhavya are staying with Aruna's other son, the only one of her 3 children still alive. Please pray for Aruna and Sai Bhavya, and for the salvation of the relatives they are staying with.

Cramped, But JESUS is There

The meeting below, held in Martha and Mary's home (twin girls seated to the right), is typical of so many of our house gatherings. The home is only a bedroom and kitchen (unless they added something after I left), with the bathroom outside. No room in the kitchen (backside of the photo), so they're in the bedroom/living room, probably 200 square feet or less. A bed on the right, a table of some sort on the left, an armoire in the corner, and no doubt other items around the room, so they sit in the midst of it all. No problem for them, because that's what they are totally accustomed to, and what those doing the ministry (in this case Brother Raju) are also accustomed to. But as the Lord said, if 2 or 3 are gathered together in His Name, He is there in our midst (Matthew 18:20). Songs, sharing a message, prayer, fellowship...all of it is done in these tiny spaces, and our Lord JESUS is at work in their hearts. Hallelujah! Continue to pray for our blessed children's and family ministry.

Two Teen Birthdays to Close Out 2025

I counted that we did blog posts for about 71 children who had birthdays in 2025. The great majority your donations are supporting in some way, usually education. The others are connected with the ministry somehow. These last 2 both turned 14 on the same day, December 30th. The top photo is Samuel with his sister, Ribca (Rebekah in English). They live in a small village, their father off and on struggling with drinking, the mother coming to the prayers. The lower photo is Navya with Lasya, the 9 year old who recently had a knife go into her eye by accident, causing blindness (doctors are still wanting to try 2 more surgeries). Navya is a good girl, one of our best students, now in the 9th grade. Samuel is also in 9th grade. Please pray for Samuel and Navya.

Peta Excursion

A few times a year Brother Raju will gather some of our girls and take them to a city called Chilakaluripet, which we call Peta for short. Previously we had 4 children in 2 families we were supporting in Peta in various ways. Sadly, it seems that the mother of 3 of the children turned back to Islam (not sure what happened), but we still go to see a girl named Jyothi, who just turned 17 earlier this month (her birthday blog will come later). Her family is very poor and much in need. Your donations help them with some food each month, and help Jyothi with her education, now in the 11th grade. In the 1st photo below we have girls eating breakfast at the bus stand before getting on the bus for the 2 and a half hour journey to Peta. I so much miss this bonding time with the girls, but can see that these excursions have very much strengthened Brothers Raju, Marthababu and their wives' ability to speak into the lives of the youth. From left are Soniya, Sirisha, Akshaya, Mary and Martha. In the 2nd photo the children and probably some adults are studying their Bibles. Most likely Raju gave them an assignment to read, and then later discussed what they read. Please don't forget to pray for this precious children's ministry.
