Our Beloved Twins

Martha (left) and Mary have been with us since 2021. Amazing the difference 5 years can make! Their family didn't know the Lord, and they were in deep poverty, literally only having cement posts to hold up the asbestos sheet roof, along with one wall. No electricity or running water, and an open bathroom (no roof or door, walls incomplete). The girls mostly stayed with their grandmother nearby in those years. The Dad died years ago in a train accident. Now, both girls are in their 3rd year of nursing college, and both have a bigger desire to use what they are learning in nursing to help the poor in some way in the years ahead. Pray for the fulfillment of those desires He places within their hearts (Psalms 37:4; 2 Thess. 1:11-12). The top photo is the girls looking at the fireworks-type candle on their cake. In the lower photo they are with Brother Raju and other children who came to celebrate with them on their 21st birthday, September 21st.

Village Poverty

The girl is Prem Kumari (14, deaf) and the boy Vijay Babu (11). Their father left the home when Vijay was a baby. Their mother then killed herself with rat poison. The grandparents have always cared for the children. The grandfather's spinal cord and knee problems have progressed to the point he is no longer able to work. The family (there's also a great grandmother in the home) is surviving with a disability pension for Prem Kumari, another pension which the great grandmother is receiving as a widow, and we are giving some food each month. Please pray for this family.

A quick update about Brother Raju's 3 month old baby boy: he's doing a little better and came home a couple of days ago. Still they are keeping a close eye on him, and taking him to the doctor again soon.

Pray for Raju's Baby Boy

Brother Raju leads our children's ministry. He and Pavani had their 2nd child on July 2nd, Daniel Benson. Raju is asking for our prayers, as his baby boy has a lung infection and is in the hospital. Thank you for your prayers!

Pray for Latha's Family

Here is Sister Latha with her 2 girls, Teja (left) and Keerthi, probably in the 10th grade. We (and you as the prayer partner and supporter) are helping their family with monthly food, and we were helping Teja in a small way with her education. For some reason she decided to stop her studies after the 12th grade. In their culture, it is likely she will be married within a couple of years, which is one reason we try to keep them in their studies: giving them more time to develop their relationship with God, and hoping they will be able to learn a skill and find a job somewhere, helping them to break the cycle of poverty. The father of the home died unexpectedly around 2022 or '23. There's another son, Rishi, who is living in a hostel and going to school. Please pray for this precious family.

Jone's 18th Birthday

Jone is here with our Brother Marthababu and Jone's local pastor (Salvation Army). There must be a lack of light, because the pastor is needing his phone to see the Bible. There's a light on in the background, but I noticed in other photos that an outside fan also was off, so most were sweating. The temps now (today's forecast is 94 for a high, with high humidity (heat index says 109 degrees). I appreciate Marthababu, his wife Pavani, and Brothers Raju and Wesley. I never hear them complaining about the heat or discomfort; they are faithful to serve, whatever the circumstances. Pray for Jone and all our boys. We see more fruit and encouragement from the ministry to the girls, but we trust in His unfailing Promises! "I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His Word do I hope." Psalms 130:5

 RHM Sept Update, Prayers for the Holidays 

Please take a few minutes to read and see the photos, always with captions. As usual, there are many praise reports and prayer requests included. We're asking you to pray for upcoming holidays because of a Hindu festival, a great opportunity to share about the True and Living God. Please pray also for Brother Wesley's family, as one of his brothers unexpectedly passed with a heart attack. Below is Prem Raju after receiving new school books for the 12th grade (more details inside the update).
