Sunday School in the Colony

These children are in the Sunday School class at a village called NTR Colony, NTR probably an acronym for a ridiculously long name! Our friend, Bhaskara Rao, continues to faithfully lead SS classes in 5 different villages each month. He comes once a month to each village, but comes to teach new songs, action songs, stories, do puppet shows and magic tricks the Sunday School classes don't usually get to learn or see. The SS ministry is not a big part of our ministry, but we still believe it has great potential to plant seeds into the children's hearts, and hopefully prepare the ground for salvation. I know that when I was a child, I didn't get a lot out of it at the time, but unknowingly the SS classes were building a faith within my heart that GOD is real. No doubt, it helped me to understand that we didn't come from monkeys, but that "In the beginning, GOD created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1

Enjoying Time Together

One of the blessings of this children's ministry in India is how many of the children are developing healthy and spiritual friendships with one another. In these photos, we're focusing on 5 girls who live together in a girls home, but many times our children (more than 50 altogether) are gathering together in homes or a church for meetings, or sometimes going on excursions together. We hope in the Lord that many of these friendships will last a lifetime. In the top photo, Brother Raju, Mary and Pavani (Marthababu's wife) are with the children crossing the Krishna River to Bhavani Island, which is a large theme park within the city of Vijayawada. In the lower photo is Sister Mary with the 5 home girls. Receiving Paralysis Medication

This is Aruna, one of 3 elderly who are receiving medication each month for paralysis. We now have about 25 widows and elderly who either receive monthly cash support, medication, rent or some small help. Please keep our widows and elderly in your prayers. And while you're at it, add a prayer for a financial miracle in His mercy, so that we can once again help many more elderly for His glory. James 1:27

First Time

Brother Raju (left) and 3 other adults took our 5 girls home children and Kavya to a theme park called Bhavani Island in Vijayawada, maybe a 2 and a half hour journey by train and auto rickshaw from their home town. This is the first time we have taken the girls home girls on a special excursion, mostly without other children. Kavya got to go because she was crying that her 2 older sisters (part of the girls home) were going, but she wasn't. In the photo, they are discreetly having a time of devotions in the park. During a previous excursion to Bhavani, the park officials told us that we could not conduct "prayers" in the park, so this time Raju was just quietly sharing with the group in order to avoid any problems. We praise the Lord for these special times of bonding!

Thankful for Our Pinky!

Yes, we can be thankful for the pinky on our hand, for sure. But we're even more thankful for our Pinky in India, who just turned 18 on April 3rd. Pinky lives with her mother and older sister, Preethi. RHM (your donations) is helping both girls with their studies, Pinky starting degree college probably in June. She's always been a precious girl with a very tender heart. As you see in the photo, part of our birthday tradition is to light a sparkling candle, which all the children like. Please pray for Pinky.

A Glorious Birthday!

The tall girl is Mahima (whose name means "glory"), who turned 18 on the 1st of this month. She's with neighbor children, the smallest girl being Brother Raju's daughter. She's now about to finish her 2nd year in an engineering college. Both parents are alive, but only the father is working, sweeping the streets. This family seems to be very faithful to the Lord, Mahima having an older sister also, still in the home and in college. We believe that the investment into the children's lives, not only teaching them about JESUS (certainly the most important thing), but also providing a better education, will have long-term effects of helping their families to come out of poverty. Lord willing, this will also enable the children to not be in so much need as adults. Praying to that end. Please pray for Mahima.
