Some of you may have tried to access our Giving (Donation) Page recently, and are seeing only a "Service Unavailable" response. We're in process of trying to understand what's going on with this. Please be patient, and Lord willing it will be accessible again within a day or two.

Pray for Their Salvation

Below is our group of 12 girls, 5 boys and 5 adults (minus the one with the camera) who went to Bhavani Island recently. This island is situated in the midst of the Krishna River in Vijayawada, a large city in Andhra Pradesh, India. We had a great time of bonding with the children, some we haven't seen in months. Please pray for these children as the Holy Spirit brings them to your mind. So many backgrounds and home situations are represented here, some in Muslim homes or communities, some Hindu. It seems that one 13 year old girl in this photo will likely get married soon. Knowing her disobedient nature, probably the parents are planning to marry her to a distant relative, which is a common practice among the poor, both to avoid a larger dowry, but also getting the girl married before she falls into a trap and ends up pregnant. Getting married at 13 is certainly not the Lord's will for the family, but it's common here. Our heavenly Father, through His precious Son, made a way for every man, woman and child to find true peace, love, forgiveness, deliverance and eternal life. Pray that the Lord will use this ministry to bring many unto Himself.

Sharing the Gospel in the Streets

Yesterday's post tells about the passing of a pastor's wife, her name Dhanamma. As we know and believe with all our hearts, it's only this body which dies; our soul lives eternally with the Lord in glory. In the first photo below, this is the group which went from the funeral location (the church and home of the pastor and his wife) to the burial place, more than a one hour trek in the 100 degree-plus heat. The last vehicle has the body of our dear sister. The 2nd photo shows some brothers (most of them pastors) sharing the Gospel as our group slowly made its way through the village. We are thankful for these brothers using every opportunity to share JESUS with the people. Praise the Lord!

Heartbreaking, but Precious in His Sight

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones." Psalms 116:15

Sister Dhanamma, a pastor's wife in the village of VV Palem in Andhra Pradesh, India died on the 15th of June. She was about 65 years old or older, and recently had a brain stroke. Many people came to honor her in this small village, her life lived in love and sacrifice for others. How can such a sad event be "precious" to the Lord? Our heavenly Father and Creator's ultimate purpose is not just to save us so that we can have a better life here on earth. His ultimate desire is for us to spend eternity with Him. No more struggles, pain, sadness or tears which we all deal with here in this life, but eternity with Him in His glory, peace and joy. 

 

It was a great honor to be able to be there during this time of remembering this sweet saint of GOD, and to be part of His comfort to so many broken relatives and friends. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalms 34:18  This not only applies to healing which comes when we have a repentant heart, but also when His children are going through some tragedy or heart-rending situation in their lives. 

 

Below in the first photo is Brother Samuel, a pastor in this village and husband of Dhanamma. He's a simple and Godly man, sharing about his love for his wife and how much he will miss her, but also about her life of love and service to others. Both he and his son, Puthra (also a pastor), shared about her with tears. In the second photo is some children and grandchildren of Dhanamma weeping over her body shortly before she was put into a coffin and taken to the burial ground.

Pray for Hurting Children

By the elephant is Nithya (11). We are hoping to connect more with her, so the Lord can work through us to impact her life for Christ. Because of numerous family problems, she's now with her grandmother, living in a hut (her parents and sister living in a hut in a different village). To the left is Nageena, her father gone and her mother having a terminal disease, but doing well with the Lord. Pray for these precious girls, and for another girl named Esther (11). Esther's family has a history of demonic possession and insanity, her father trying to kill the mother and children with "black magic". We're trying to spend more time with this girl, as she has a tender heart for the Lord, but is suffering with some bad influences in the home.

Blessed Time On An Island

Bhavani Island is a type of theme park on an island situated in the midst of the Krishna River. Shortly after arriving in the park, we found a grassy area and spent more than an hour and a half singing, praying and sharing the Word. It was a very precious time, although sweating a lot (May and the first part of June is typically the hottest time of the year here in this part of India). Pray for open hearts among the children we are involved with. For sure, some are not ready to really seek the Lord, but we continue to plant the seeds of truth and love into their lives, trusting the Lord to work in their hearts.

Monthly Help for Elderly

Brother Prasanth is here taking the thumb print of Nirmalamma when giving her some monthly assistance (about $18, but worth much more in this culture). Nirmala is married, but her husband is not able to work much (eye sight problems), and she is currently under chemo and radiation treatment (2nd round) after having breast cancer. She's a faithful and prayerful woman, almost always coming to the prayers (all services are generally called "prayers" here). Pray for Nirmala. Somehow, even as we might have to scale way back on our widows & elderly ministry, we trust the Lord will provide for those who need continued assistance.
