This is Subba Lakshmi, one of our widows who recently had a cataract eye surgery, at the time of our monthly food distribution. It seems that, at least in the area where we do ministry, that the elderly are told to try and keep the dark glasses on for at least 30 days after the surgery. Whether it is needed or not, most all of the cataract surgeries we have been involved with have been successful, and we praise the Lord for that. Subba Lakshmi's husband died over 20 years ago. She has 2 living daughters, one far away, the other on the same street. Her oldest daughter and that daughter's husband died of AIDS about 10 years ago, leaving a baby girl, Bhavya Sri, for Subba Lakshmi to take care of. Bhavya is now 11, and because of her grandmother's poor health, is staying with another family near one of the churches we are involved with, RHM helping her.
