Trusting for Their Salvation

From left are Asiya, Hashma, Nafiya and Nageena. All are from Muslim families, but sometimes coming to our Sunday School classes, tutoring classes after school, and sometimes to church services. The Lord used the miracle of healing to bring Asiya to the church, and she is faithful to attend even though her parents and brother do not come. There is much pressure from Muslim elders to keep those from their community away from the church, but the Lord does wonders to draw their hearts. The 2 middle girls come sometimes, but are experiencing the love of Christ in their lives. Nageena's mother was probably the first one from the nearby Muslim community to come to the Lord, and has helped to bring others. Your donations are providing education for Asiya (just finished 8th grade) and Nageena, who just finished 11th. Please pray for the salvation and spiritual growth of these girls and their families.

4 Boys With the Same Birthday!

Sister Mary is giving cake to Gana on his "birthday" April 17th. As with many children who are part of his tribal culture, Gana's mother doesn't know when any of her 9 or more children were born. Without any education or knowledge of months, years, days, etc, and since none of the children were born in a hospital, they have no official birth records. We have shared about this particular family with you before, the father having 2 wives, one wife having at least 9 children, and the other wife having two. At least 5 of the children have already married and gone to other homes, the girls usually married by age 15 or so. Instead of choosing a different birthday for each boy, we decided to celebrate all 4 boys' birthdays on the same day, April 17th. From oldest to youngest (also biggest to smallest) are Sankar, Ayappa, Vamsi and Gana. It's also so good to see Sister Mary back in the ministry again, as she has suffered for months from tuberculosis. Now she is doing much better. Please pray for these boys and for the salvation of all their family members, especially the father, as he controls every aspect of the home (including their involvement with believers or the outside world) with a tight fist.

Our Monthly Food Distribution

This is Bhaskara Rao, a widower who is part of our widows & elderly ministry. You might remember that his wife had to have both her legs amputated just above the knee because of severe diabetes a few years ago. Bhaskara Rao now lives with his daughter, who is unmarried. When his wife was alive, he had such love for her and took as good care of her as he could, his daughter also helping. Since his wife, Krupamma, died, he has not been as active or mentally sound. Each month he and his daughter are one of 28 families (some of them alone in their home) who receive some amount of monthly food from this ministry. In early 2022 we served many more families larger amounts of food, totaling over $900 a month. Because of financial difficulties we now give about $250 worth of food to 28 families/recipients. Please pray, as we again may be in a financial position to where we possibly may need to eliminate this food ministry altogether within the coming months.

Some of Our Girls

Sister Pavani is with some of our girls in a recent photo. Your financial support is assisting all of these girls (except Susmitha on the far left) with education, some with food, and all of them with spiritual counsel. Susmitha's parents are both living, one or both working. None of the others have a father in the home, 2 of them staying with their grandmother, the grandfather also not alive. From left is Susmitha, Sai Bhavya, Sister Pavani, Soniya, Akshaya, Mary, Kavya in front of Mary, Divya and Martha. This photo was probably taken on Sai Bhavya's 13th birthday, Susmitha being her cousin, and the other girls coming from another town in an auto rickshaw to participate in the birthday. Please pray for all these precious girls.

The Reason I Live...

There's a beautiful worship song in English which starts out "When I look into Your holiness" and ends with "The reason I live is to worship You." With our songs, our attitudes, our devotion, our character...in all that we do, we want to have a heart that loves, honors and worships our Creator and Savior. Below is a photo from a meeting which we have every Sunday afternoon, inviting youth, children, family members and our elderly. Because of distance and lack of transportation many cannot come, but we're thankful that many do. As I look over the photos from these meetings, there are many responses: some indifferent, some very much engaged and worshipping the Lord. But as with us, each one is precious unto the Lord, and He wants to reveal Himself to every heart. "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers." John 4:23
