Asiya, the tallest girl (3rd from right), turned 16 in February. We have shared this with you before, but have some updated information. For years she would have seizures, not convulsions, but passing out and sleeping for 30 minutes up to more than an hour. Then she would wake up extremely sleepy and tired. One night, her Muslim family thought she was dead. Knowing that their "Allah" (the Arabic word for God, and thus used by Muslims, Christians and others in the Arab region to refer to God). isn't doing anything for them, they rushed Asiya to the local church, which not coincidentally was having a meeting. The pastor and others prayed for her; she woke up and has been slowly improving since that time. I asked Asiya on her birthday (through Brother Raju translating) when the last time was that she has had a seizure, and she thinks it has been almost 2 years. Praise the Lord! Her family (parents and an older brother) haven't come to the Lord, but they are allowing Asiya to attend the Christian meetings, go on excursions with us, etc. We are very thankful that she seems to recognize that there is something very different about JESUS versus all the violent and angry behavior she's been around for years in her Muslim community.
