Thankful for the Body of Christ!

"There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord...For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body...and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12:5,13

Sadly, oftentimes the various parts of the "Body of Christ" (His true Church, regardless of race, ethnic background or church affiliation) are not able to work together because of doctrinal differences. But in this type of charitable ministry, we get to experience some level of unity. RHM's donors are surely from all kinds of different church backgrounds. Those involved on the admin side, the same. And even those who are involved in carrying out the ministry in India, these brothers and sisters are from various different denominations and churches, mostly "independent" (non-denominational).

In the photo below is our Brother Hanock, giving some food to a sister named Karimun, a recipient of RHM funds. But this food is from Hanock's own ministry called Mefiboseth Ministries. We thank GOD for the ability to work together without any spirit of competition among us, and we strive to keep it that way, for His glory! Pray for Karimun, who was hit by a careless motorcycle driver today (hit and run). She fell to the ground and hit her head on a stone. She seems to be okay, but has body pains and a really nasty looking wound on her head.

Pray for Children's Ministry

Please pray for the children's ministry we're involved with. There's at least 8 different villages where there are "Sunday Schools" going on regularly, although it may be on another day of the week. There are also 30-40 children whom our brothers (and Bro. Raju's wife Pavani also) go to visit in their homes, some of them on a weekly basis. When we go to their homes, there are often other village children also. On a monthly basis, there may be at least 150 to 200 children (if not more) who are being ministered to with the love of Christ, trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to instill His Words within their little hearts. Please pray for His anointing upon the brothers and sisters involved, and for the children's salvation, having true faith and turning their hearts to our Savior and Lord JESUS.

Birthday Girls!

Below is Brother Prasanth giving cake to Mary (right) & Martha, twin girls who turned 16 on the 21st of this month. It was a very special time for them, as it was the first time they have had a birthday celebration in their lives. The Lord saw their pain and poverty. Their home behind them actually has no permanent walls, just a temporary mesh material we put around their home about 2 weeks ago. They have a dirt floor, no electricity, and their outside "bathroom" is just 3 walls with no door or roof (and no hole in the ground or toilet). They must go to another location in the village to get their water. Their Daddy died of Covid in 2020; the mother has 1 or 2 house cleaning jobs to earn some income, not enough for them to even eat properly. We thank our GOD for connecting us to this family. The girls are now in the 11th grade, they have their fees paid, school materials purchased, and new bicycles to ride to school. Lord willing, within the next week or 2 we will start constructing walls and put stone flooring in their home, get an electric connection, and complete a proper bathroom for them. As the great old song says, "Praise GOD, from Whom all blessings flow..."

Learning About JESUS

The Lord has done a really precious work in this village, opening doors, opening hearts, and protecting from the enemy. For some years, efforts to establish any kind of prayer meetings were forbidden here, but this year the Lord has given some favor, now having at least one meeting every week. Because of school and work schedules, we often don't know how many will come, but this little house would be packed wall to wall if all the adults & children came at the same time. RHM is committed to helping 5 of the children in this photo, and 2 of the widows. They are watching 3 other little children sing.

Pray for Direction

Below is Divya, one of our 10 tailoring students, the tailoring project coming to an end this month. This 6 month tailoring project went from November of 2020 through April '21. Four of the students needed more training, but because of Covid we had to wait until August and September to give them 2 months additional training. Six girls/young women completed in April, making a total of 7 single moms (with a total of 11 children) and 3 single girls. Divya, the girl below (maybe 18 years old), also had a little child, but she died a few months ago.

In the India culture, it is not easy for single women or girls to go out and promote their talents and get some business unless they have a more bold and aggressive nature, which most of them don't. Some of the shy ones (like Divya) are from village areas, which is also a disadvantage for them. We're praying about how to help them make some income, perhaps even starting one or 2 tailoring shops in different locations, bringing these tailoring graduates to the shops where they can work as employees. Definitely the Lord has wisdom to impart for these young women and girls, so pray with us for His guidance. Thanks!

Jone Turns 13

Brother Raju (right) and a Salvation Army pastor are helping Jone to celebrate his 13th birthday on the 18th of September. Jone is studying in the 9th grade now, and seems to have a tender heart for the Lord. In the lower photo is Jone with his mother and little brother Jaison, now in the 3rd grade. The father/husband of this family died in 2020, his death compounding the problems they were already having in their family. The Lord has brought RHM into their lives, the help and ministry to them giving some hope and encouragement to them which they didn't have before. Praise the Lord!

Divya's Now 22!

Below is Pavani (Bro. Raju's wife) giving cake to Divya on September 14th, her 22nd birthday. Divya's younger sister, Sandhya, turned 18 on the 3rd, which we shared with you a few posts earlier. We are involved with Divya, Sandhya and their younger brother Abraham by helping them with their education. Their father is currently disabled after a motorcycle accident, the mother trying to maintain their little vegetable stand at the local market. That income helps them with their food, but not much more. Divya has a tender heart toward the Lord, and is now taking a 2 or 3 month coaching course after having finished her college course in civil engineering. Lord willing, this course will help her to get a job in the days to come. Pray for Divya.

Giving Hope to the Helpless

"Lord, You know the hopes of the helpless. Surely You will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them." Psalms 10:17-18

In the photo below is Brother Reinhard giving some monthly support to a handicapped man named Moses, paralyzed because of a stroke he had around 2012. Moses has a wife who sometimes goes to work for very meager wages, but tries to spend most of the time caring for her husband. They have a son and 2 daughters living elsewhere, and none of them will take any responsibility for their parents. Many of the widows, elderly, handicapped, children and families we are involved with are in these type situations, mostly abandoned by their relatives as far as anyone willing to take any financial responsibility. We praise GOD for the opportunity to be His love and mercy extended toward them!

Making Disciples

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  Matt. 28:19-20

Notice in the above Scriptures, our Lord JESUS didn't direct His disciples to just go and make converts or church attenders. He told them to make disciples, and to teach them to obey all that He has commanded. In other words, ALL new converts to Christ should be "disciples", and they should be obedient to the Words of GOD.

Below is a pastor leading in a time of worship during a meeting in January. We had started this monthly meeting in a central location, trying to gather many of the people whom RHM is involved with (widows & elderly, families with their children, etc.). As you can see, many were gathering, but the "2nd wave" of Covid came through, and meetings were stopped. Now we're hoping to start them again, this time possibly gathering them more often. We have hope that these meetings will be very beneficial for their spiritual lives. Please pray for that.

Turning From Useless Things

"Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living GOD, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them..." Acts 14:15

Don't think that it is just heathen illiterates that follow after the vain traditions of their ancestors. All over the world, it's not only the poor and uneducated, but the rich, the very highly educated, and some of the world's most prominent leaders who are following a set of rules and traditions which they truly believe they are supposed to do in order to be pleasing to their "gods". Thank the Lord for men like Paul, who had the courage in the Lord to speak directly to the issues that were keeping the people in bondage, that they should turn from useless things to the living GOD.

Do you think that there are any useless things, useless traditions which have people in bondage in America also? Think about the things which you are doing, that you are watching, that you are listening to, that you are spending your money on...in light of eternity, is there any real value in those things? Is there any real or lasting happiness in those things? In the end, do those things have any more real value than the things which these people are doing in the photo?

House Repairs for Sister Bharathi

This is Sister Bharathi, a widow whom RHM is assisting. Her husband died of AIDS, and she also is not well (and very weak), so cannot work much at well. She has an 11 year son, Arun Kumar. By His grace and provision, we just recently completed brick walls and stone flooring for her home, and put on a new door. Previously, there were only sticks and leaves for the wall, a dirt floor and no door. She feels so much safer now, not only from people, but more so from snakes and rats. Praise the Lord!

Happy Birthday Sandhya!

Sandhya turned 18 on the 3rd of September. She was VERY happy that we had a celebration for her. Bro. Raju & his wife Pavani went to Sandhya's home, and the birthday celebration was held in their church (sheets & tarps for walls). Sandhya is planning to join the 11th grade as soon as her school decides to open, waiting to see if the Covid is reducing enough so that the parents are willing to send the children.
Pray for Sandhya and for her family. Her father is not able to work these days because of diabetes and an injured foot. The mother is trying to manage their vegetable stand at the local market, but without the Dad they are making enough income for their food, not much else. Their house also has no permanent walls. RHM is assisting Sandhya, her older sister and younger brother with their education needs.
