Chicken Pox

Jone (soon to be 14) in bed with the chicken pox. At least 6 of the children we minister to have had the chicken pox recently, all of them attending the same school. There are 13 other children we're involved with in that same school, plus of course all the other children. Pray the Lord will stop the spread. Thank you always for your prayers!

Daily Tuition Classes

Tuition (tutoring) class is taking place daily, usually on the roof of Sister Mary's home (the tutor). We are assisting several of these children with their education this year. A few of these children who attend govt (public) schools might be learning more from this one and a half hour tutoring class than they do in their schools; that's how poor the quality is in some of the govt schools. Please keep these precious children in your prayers. If you want more names or info about any of the children, send us an email: rhmforhim@gmail.com

Please Remember Our Elderly

This is Naomi at a recent doctor's visit. Naomi has serious diabetes, but we thank GOD that it has been reasonably under control for the last year and a half. When we first became involved with Naomi, both she and her husband were in the hospital with very high blood sugar. Sadly, on the same day that Naomi had one of her big toes amputated, her husband died in that same hospital. But since that time, because of the Lord's mercy and gracious donors, the blood sugar has been under control most of the time.
Though what we do may seem very small to others, we rejoice that the Lord has given us this blessed calling within His kingdom: "Pure religion and undefiled in the sight of our GOD and Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:27

School uniforms

Precious Prasanna (9th grade) in her new school uniform. This academic year began about the 1st of July, but only recently the uniform material has come to us. Looks nice. We have 19 children we're helping with fees & school materials in this particular school, around 45-50 children altogether. Some of the children are attending government (public) schools, and their expenses are very small. Please pray for all these beautiful children.

School Lunch

The girls on the left are Prasanna (9th grade) and Sonia (6th). These 2 girls we are sponsoring for their education, as well as 17 others who attend this school (the Lord has had us ministering to these 19 children and their families for some time, long before school started in July). Another girl the Lord has us sponsoring is below right, Sameera (6th grade, from a Muslim background). Precious, precious children. Please pray for these children, their education, their families, and especially their spiritual lives.

Pillars for a Single Mother

Over the last year or two, the govt has given land to many people, and promised that they would pay the majority of the costs of building a small house. As is normal with govt officials, after giving the land the rules changed: the people must come up with the majority of the funds to build the house. It makes no sense as to who the free lands were given, as some are not that poor, so can afford to take loans to build a house. Others (like Jhansi, the single mother in this case) are very poor, and have almost no chance to pay back loans. Now the govt is putting much pressure on the poor people, that they must at least start the construction process, or the land will be taken away. For that reason RHM paid about $400 to have these pillars constructed. As a ministry, we are not able to contribute more at this time for Jhansi (she lives in a rental house, her 2 teenage children in a hostel), and there's no way she is able to do more of the construction. We are not asking for contributions for this, but asking you to pray for Jhansi and the hundreds like her, whose lands mostly sit idle because of a lack of funds.

Happy Birthday to Divya!

Divya turned 9 in July. She is a very active and sweet girl, now studying in the 3rd grade. Her name means "divine brilliance" (or brightness). Her older sister, Sonia, is on the left. There was a room full of children from the neighborhood to celebrate with Divya. Her mother and her 3 daughters have had a radical countenance change since we became involved in their lives a year or so ago. Their Daddy was an abusive man, so finally the mother left, and they were simply trying to survive. We praise GOD for His love upon them! Please pray for Divya. Click here if the Lord touches your heart to help us financially with our children's ministry.

Mother & Son with HIV

The mother is Chanti, her son's name Paul. Chanti's husband died with AIDS, and she and the boy also have HIV. The mother is very weak and needs much prayer. Paul is active now, but in the past was not healthy and not able to attend school regularly. Now he is doing much better, although the doctors say that the HIV is worse in his body than in his mother. Trusting the Lord for His merciful healing touch on both of them. Chanti is on our widows' list, Paul on our children's list. We have 3 widows with HIV, all of their husbands dying with AIDS. Please pray for Chanti and Paul, her only child.

Sunday School in the Village

Sister Ruthamma, one of our widows, is beginning Sunday School class with prayer in the village of Nandayapalem. Although the classes are sometimes inconsistent because of many villagers' habit of migrating to different locations for work, still we are thankful that some of the children are growing in their desire for Christ. Praise the Lord! Please keep our children and widows' ministries in your prayers. Click here if you would like to donate. Any amount is much appreciated.

Much Fun With Kids!

In May of this year we had the blessed opportunity to go to what is called Bavani Island, an island in the midst of the Krishna River. The mirror maze behind us was a lot of laughs, as no one could get a bearing as to where they were in that maze, constantly bumping into each other and into the mirrored walls! We enjoyed being inside there, but were also relieved to get out! These trips and outings have proven to be great bonding times with the children and adults who are able to attend. Continue to pray for the children the Lord has us involved with, and their families.

Audio Bibles for Elderly

Sunny (right) is giving an audio Bible to Chandraiah (named after the moon) and his wife Thirupamma (named after a Hindu idol) in the village of Kothapet. Sunny is the son of our Bro. Wesley, who oversees the elderly ministry in his area of India. Sunny is a very nice young man, who has a good computer job, but helps his Dad when he is free. Audio Bibles are being distributed to 16 elderly and 4 pastors in Wesley's area. Most of our widows & elderly are not able to read or write, so these are very useful.

Shiny(ng) for JESUS!

Shiny (girl on the right) turned 17 today! Her 15 year old brother, Kethan, is giving her cake. Both of these children are such a blessing. They are diligent to read their Bibles, say their prayers, and seem to truly have a desire to serve the Lord. That is exciting to see among young teenagers! RHM is sponsoring both of their educations, Kethan in the 10th grade, and Shiny in the 12th (they call it 2nd yr intermediate). Pray the Lord's blessing over Shiny. "But let those who love Him be like the rising of the sun in its might." Judges 5:31

Tuition (Tutoring)

A typical scene of "tuition class" in India. Perhaps those in the western world are more familiar with the term "tutoring", but tuition is the common word where we are involved in ministry. Our sister in the Lord, Amrutha, oversees this tuition class at a hostel of a friend of ours. Pray for Amrutha, as she helps the children with their studies, but also tries to teach them about JESUS. Many of the same children are also in her Sunday School class each week.

Happy Birthday Vijay Babu!

Vijay Babu is the little boy, who turned 7 on July 7th. His grandmother is helping his older sister, Prem Kumari, give the cake (she is deaf, and is sometimes needing help in understanding what she should do). Their Dad left years ago, the mother then taking her own life. The children stay with the grandparents, an aunt and great grandparents. A very poor family, but they seem to be happy, and faithful to the Lord. Pray for Vijay Babu.

James 1:27

On the bed is Chinamma, suffering with paralysis. She stays on the bed most all the time. She lives with her son (he and his wife in the photo), who recently had a hernia surgery and is not able to work for some months. Only his wife is working at this time, and they have 2 teenage children in school. We are helping with food on a monthly basis.

RHM's main purpose in the Lord is simple: "Pure and undefiled religion before GOD and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. " James 1:27   To help the needy children (most of them orphans, semi-orphans or abandoned), the needy elderly (most of them widowed), and to help poor families as the Lord enables us. And in the midst of it all, striving in Christ to bring them closer to GOD. Pray for us!

Bible Study

Brother Raju is sharing the Word in Mary & Martha's home. Not in Bethany, but in a town called Upparapalem in India. Mary & Martha are part of our children's program, their mother next to them part of our widows' ministry (her husband, the children's Daddy, died of Covid in 2020). On the right are Marthababu and his wife Pavani, now helping in the work with children. Please pray for the children's ministry as they try to visit each family on a weekly basis.

Reimbursing Widows for Meds

Brother Wesley (right) is giving medical reimbursement for Thirupathamma in the village of VV Palem. She had purchased meds for a urine infection, gas and heart problem. We are so thankful to be able to provide this, as well as monthly assistance for some of the more needy widows & elderly, and help them with their house repairs. World Challenge is our main sponsor for the widows/widowers, but some donors are giving to RHM, designating their donations for widows & elderly. These donations are helping a variety of elderly, single mothers (usually husband died of abandoned them) and handicapped people. Bless all those who give and pray; it is so useful in the lives of the needy.

Worshipping, Praying

It's so beautiful to see people worshipping and seeking GOD! This is a monthly meeting that took place yesterday, many or most of those in this photo part of our widows & elderly ministry. The children are in the front of the church, so not in this photo.
