Pray for Those Who are Grieving

Below in the photo is Venkateswaramma, part of our widows & elderly ministry. She's standing in front of a new hut which we (the Lord and His Body) constructed in 2019. This Sister passed away today with Covid. Although the tests, etc. are certainly doubtful, supposedly she had Covid in May, and again got it in July.
Sadly, because of Covid almost no one attended her funeral. But her 2 daughters did attend (she had another son and daughter who have already passed). Her husband had died in 2016. She was in her 70's, and had come to the Lord and taken baptism in 2017. Praise the Lord, that she came to salvation when close to 70 years old! His Blood reaches to the highest mountain, to the lowest valley, to the most lonely and hurting hearts. It's never too late, if a person will just humble themselves and cry out to Him.
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalms 34:18

Thankful for His Protection!

Quite a story of the Lord's protection in the photo below. The great grandmother of these 2 children (Yesu Meri & Sukanya) had a cataract surgery recently and needed her daughter  to take care of her for some days (the children's grandmother. The mother died and father left them when the smaller girl was a baby). The grandmother and her son (in photo) had been working in another village, so were returning to their own village. All 4 of them were on a small motorcycle (common there). It was raining, and somehow the bike went down, all of them falling. By His mercy, there were no serious injuries, but the bigger girl Yesu Meri ("Yesu" means JESUS and "Meri" is Mary) scraped the inside of her right foot. You can see her wounds if you're able to enlarge the screen. These 2 precious girls are among the 25 or more children the Lord has us helping whenever they have any need in their lives. Pray for the salvation of all this poor family.

This photo was taken only a few hours after the accident.

Pray for Deena's Operation

Pray for Deena, who fractured her shoulder in an auto rickshaw (3 wheel taxi) accident several months ago. She needs to have an operation, but because of the Covid situation, doctors have not been available. Now we are seeking for a doctor. Pray for a successful surgery, and for reasonable prices. She is here standing outside her hut with her young husband, Venkaya.

Starting Sunday School

Very happy to start a new Sunday School in this village. At least one minister has tried to start a church in this village in previous years, but each time the village elders have forbidden it. But for now the Lord has given some favor to our Brothers to go and visit or pray with the people. The elders normally will allow the believers to go outside the village for prayers (Christian services of any kind), but have not allowed that inside the village. Pray with us that the Lord "Who opens and no one shuts" (Revelation 3:7) will protect this Sunday School to move forward, as there are many children interested.

Covid Relief Project Completed

Sometime in early April the Covid cases and deaths went up dramatically in India. We are very thankful that World Challenge sponsored some Covid food relief via RHM on the ground in India. We did that in June and July, giving some extra food to more than 160 widows, elderly & handicapped, and also to 55 different families who were adversely affected by Covid in some way. To our GOD alone be the glory. Below is Brother Wesley's daughter, Blessy, giving some food to Vijaya Lakshmi in Singarayakonda. This sister is near 60 years old and has had polio since she was younger than 5. She never married and has no children. She's on our widows & elderly list because of her handicap, not able to walk properly. She previously was a pre-school teacher, and now does some tailoring at her home to try and earn some income. A nice believer, attending Bro. Wesley's church. She had Covid in April, but thankfully has completely recovered. PTL!

Stopping the Leaks!

The Lord has provided so that this month we could cover 37 huts so far with large tarps in order to stop the leaks during the rainy season. Below is Annamma (Anna) in the village of MR Nagar. Normally, every several years we may have to replace the sticks (frame) of the roof, at the same time replacing the leaves. Even with the tarps, we will usually have to replace the leaves every few years. We try to put new tarps on each hut annually, but the tarps will not last all year long. They will tear eventually because of the wind, rain and heat of the sun. But they do a good job of prolonging the life of the roofs of these huts. We praise GOD for His provision, and the widows & elderly (and 6 families in a tribal colony) praise GOD for dry homes! If you have any problems with a leaky roof, give us a call and we'll get you fixed up. 😊

PRAISE REPORT & UPDATE!

We asked you to pray for a couple of sisters a few days ago: Marthamma, who had an eye surgery on Wednesday, and Radha, who has been having stomach problems for some months. Marthamma's eye surgery seems to have been successful; pray for total recovery. Radha's tests found that she had an ulcer and anemia; she was given some meds. Continue to pray for her as well.

In our latest email update sent out 10 days ago, we asked you to pray for the education needs of the 15-20 children (could be more) whom we are assisting with their school fees, books, transportation, etc.  We mentioned a need of approximately $4,000 (rough calculations) for all of them. Within a day or 2 that need was met! Praise the Lord for the love He has put within the hearts of amazing donors! Below are Shiny (15) and Kethan (14), flanked by a couple of brothers who came to their home to present them with prizes for doing well in some recent Scripture competitions on Aradhana TV in India. These are 2 of the children whom the Lord has led us to help with their education. Their mother is a teacher, but not working because of Covid, and their Dad has some physical problems which have hindered him from working for the last 14 years.

Prayer Needed for 2 Sisters

The mother on the left is Sister Radha, her daughters Preethi (right) & Pinky. A few days ago we asked you to pray for Marthamma, who is going to the hospital tomorrow (21st) for an eye surgery if her blood sugar levels are good. Sister Radha has been having some stomach problems for months, and is also going to the hospital tomorrow. Very thankful for our Brothers in India who are helping these sisters with their needs, Bro. Prasanth taking Radha to the hospital, and Bro. Raju taking Marthamma. Please keep these ladies in your prayers.

Happy Birthday Vijay Babu!

These are 2 of the children we are assisting, Prem Kumari (whose name means "daughter of love"), and Vijay Babu (maybe "victory boy"). Their mother committed suicide after the father left the family. There's 7 people in their 2 huts: these children, grandparents, great grandparents and a mentally ill Aunt. Only the grandfather is able to work, the grandmother taking care of the children. July 7th was Vijay Babu's 6th birthday, and he was so happy. He has a beautiful smile. We didn't get any good photos on his birthday, but this one is nice. Please pray for Vijay Babu and his family.

Pray for Marthamma

Marthamma is part of our widows & elderly ministry, living in a hut with her daughter and 2 great granddaughters, Yesu Meri & Sukanya (part of our children's ministry). The children's mother died after giving birth to the 2nd girl, and then the Dad left. In this photo, Marthamma had just received some Covid relief (food), sponsored by World Challenge. Pray for Marthamma, who is scheduled for an eye surgery on Wednesday. The surgery's been delayed because her blood sugar count wasn't under control, but now it's doing better. Pray it will stay that way. "Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them." Psalms 10:17

Thanks for Your Prayers!

In the Photo is Brother Wesley giving medical reimbursement to Thirupathamma in a village church in Valetivaripalem. Generally, the elderly pay for their meds or treatment, and RHM reimburses them some or all the amount if they have the proper receipts. Sometimes, they are not able to pay up front, so we help them in advance. We've known Bro. Wesley for about 13 years, and he has been very faithful in overseeing the widows & elderly ministry in his area of India.

A quick update and word of thanks to all who have prayed about previous requests in these blog posts.  In His mercy, and through the prayers of His people, many requests have been answered: broken hearts being mended, such as Venkata Ramana, a young girl who's young husband was electrocuted and died early this year. Such as Sugunamma, whose husband recently died of the black fungus (she's doing much better, and has hope that her husband turned his heart back to the Lord while he was in his last days). Such as Nagaratnamma, whose husband died because of excessive drinking last October; through the financial help she is no longer feeling in despair over all the debt that was left to her.

And also the Lord has brought some healing to bodies, such as Subra Manyam, a man about 55 years old who seemed to be on his deathbed, his liver and kidneys failing because of drinking. The doctors had no hope for his recovery, and he wasn't eating much of anything. The Lord has done a miraculous work, and he's doing so much better and is coming to the prayers. Naomi is a widow who had her big toe amputated (diabetes) the same day that her husband died in the same hospital, he also suffering with diabetes. After the Lord led us to get involved with her, she is doing so much better. Also, we asked you to pray for 7 year old Prem Kumari's leg, which had a deep cut from a stick while she was playing. Her wound is healing very nicely. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Happy Birthday Kumari!

Kumari (bigger girl on the left) turned 18 on June 3rd. The Lord has done great things in Kumari's life over the last year or more. After a very difficult season, she turned her heart more completely to JESUS around April or May of 2020. Surprisingly, she had a good family give a marriage proposal to Kumari's family, and Kumari married Yesubabu on July 25th. In the photo is Yesubabu's little sister, Arpana, next to Kumari, his grandmother in the back, and neighborhood children who came to celebrate Kumari's birthday that morning. They're singing a song before hearing a short message and having a time of prayer.

Pray for Comfort

PRAY for Sugunamma, whose husband died of Covid and "black fungus" (the medical term is Mucormycosis) about 9 days ago. Sugunamma also had Covid, but recovered. Brother Raju saw her recently and said she's crying much. Sugunamma is from the village of Alluru, and is one of 6 of our widows & elderly who have recovered from Covid. Another 5 died of Covid. Please pray for the comfort of all those who have lost their loved ones. We have the living hope that it is only their bodies which have died, and that they will live forever. This is the blessed hope of the believer, and what brings some comfort to those who mourn.
JESUS said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die." John 11:25-26
