Sweet Transition Taking Place

The Lord JESUS came to "preach good news to the poor...to heal the broken hearted...to comfort all who mourn...to give them beauty for ashes..." Isaiah 61:1-3
And this is one of the most precious things in life, to actually witness the above ministry of Christ taking place within people's lives. The family below was in obvious torment, not knowing much of anything about JESUS or the Father's love. The mother was in an electrical shock in 2017, so cannot do much work. The father died of Covid in 2020. The house was in pathetic condition, literally with only one small wall and a door around the house. Some of the rest of the walls were just pieces of tin, clothing, etc. It was painfully obvious that these 2 twin girls (their English names Mary & Martha) knew little of happiness in their lives.
In His mercy, He brought us across their path through Bro. Hanock, and now they have temporary screen material around their home until we're able to help them with something more permanent. They're now getting food on a regular basis, and the girls were just enrolled in the 11th grade 2 or 3 days ago, the mother not burdened down with trying to pay their fees. And yesterday or today, the girls got new bicycles so that they can ride to school each day. I think you can see the change in their countenance in the photos below as they stand with their new bicycles.

The mother is in the middle, Mary & Martha with
her perhaps the 1st day we came into contact with them.

The "house" they have been living in, zero security. You think
that door will keep anyone (including rats & snakes) out?

New bicycles for Mary & Martha. Hallelujah!

In Need of Christ

Below is just one of perhaps millions of vain superstitions which people follow around the world. This elderly woman is from far south India. The "ear rings" usually have something to do with a serpent (not understanding the significance). Stretching the ear lobes have at least 2 symbolic meanings, perhaps more: 1. the greater the length, the more blessing the person receives from the "gods" or a particular "god"; 2. it's symbolic of having a greater ability to listen to and retain the various teachings and chants of their religion.

It may seem weird or silly to the western mind, but for the millions (if not billions) of those raised up and trapped within the teachings of Hinduism, Buddhism, ancestral worship, etc. (and even some "Christian" superstitions & idolatry around the world), these things are very real to their heart. As our Lord JESUS said in Matthew 9:37-38, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

Widows & Elderly

Below is Jeya Manimma, one of 164 widows & elderly whom RHM is assisting in various ways, by His marvelous grace. As of now, there are 148 women and 16 men; 127 are widows or widowers, and 37 are either married, handicapped or were abandoned. So thankful for every one of them! Please keep this widows & elderly ministry in your prayers.

The testimony of Job, and one the goals of this ministry: "Because I delivered the poor who cried out, the fatherless and the one who had no helper...and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy." Job 29:12-13

Schools Are Starting

Below are twin girls (not identical), Mariamma & Marthamma (in English that's Mary & Martha). Really, we are very thankful to have connected with their family recently. Through some Covid relief funds provided in June & July by World Challenge in Colorado, we found out about Mary & Martha's family. Their Dad died with Covid in early 2020, and we can truly say that they are living in much poverty. But we praise the Lord for the connection, and now, as long as the Lord provides through us, their family will have some help in different ways. This photo was taken a couple of days ago on the girls' first day of school; they were admitted into a girls school for the 11th grade. Please pray for the Lord's comfort in the lives of Mary, Martha and their mother, and for their salvation.

Pray for One of Our Widows

Pray for Ratna Kumari, the sister on the left. Ratna Kumari is part of our widows & elderly program. Recently her daughter-in-law died of Covid. Her son is not a responsible person, so is not willing to care for his 2 boys (in right photo). Now Ratna Kumari has full responsibility for the boys, no one else willing to care for them. The older boy will be going back to his hostel to live soon, where he also gets an education. The younger boy is mentally impaired, cannot talk, and sometimes is having seizures (perhaps epilepsy), so is not able to study. Ratna Kumari said he's an obedient boy. Please pray for this family.

Single Moms

Below is Bro. Hanock giving food to Karimun and her son Johnbasha. When Karimun was about 12 or 13 years old, both her parents died (don't know how). She grew up in her uncle's Muslim home. Around the age of 20 or less, she married a young man who was or became an alcoholic. He didn't take care of her or the boy properly, and abandoned the family in 2016. She has some heart problems, and has minimal work cleaning one home, and sometimes helps to clean a local restaurant. We're thankful to connect with her in June, and have helped her and her son with food from June to August, and are starting to help her with some of her needed medications. She also struggles to pay her house rent. Pray for the Lord's provision and wisdom in how and how much to help the many broken families whom we're coming into contact with.

Trusting our Father for 2 Corinthians 9:10-11, "Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God."

Thankful for His Healing

We are very thankful for the Lord's healing touch upon Subbamma, the woman below. We first met her when her son was accidentally killed in an electrical accident. His 15 year old bride (no one knows her correct age) already had a 1 year old son, and was pregnant. She had a healthy 2nd baby. We were helping her (the Lord through us), but she has now gone to stay with her own mother in a distant village.
But at that time (January '21), Subbamma could barely hear, so it was difficult to communicate with her. She is from a Hindu family, but is now seeking the Lord and coming to prayers. Here is a testimony from Brother Raju, sent only a few days ago about Subbamma, one of his students in a literacy class in her village:
"She is SUBBAMMA, sister of Polamma from Satya Narayana. She comes to our literacy programs. Previously she was deaf, even when we started ministry there. Many times I observed her when I shared Word of God and when doing literacy program, I need to talk to her loudly. Slowly she is hearing Word of God and praying for herself. God touched her and now she is hearing properly, and shared with me this Testimony. I never prayed for her or laid my hand on her; even brother Prasanth also. I believe only WORD OF GOD healed her truly. Glory to the Lord alone. Thanks for your prayers also."

"He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them
from their destructions." Psalms 107:20

Happy Birthday to Shiny!

Shiny is receiving a new Bible from Brother Prasanth on her birthday, August 10th (her mother in the background). Shiny is now 16 years old, going to start in the 11th grade soon (in India, they often call that the 1st year of "Intermediate"). Shiny is a very nice girl, she and her brother Kethan both having more spiritual desires than we normally see in young teens. Pray for Shiny, for her spiritual life, her studies, her family (financial struggles), her future. May the Lord bless her abundantly.

New Widow

Below is Aruna with her granddaughter, Sai Bhavya (10). Bhavya is one of the children whom RHM is committing to helping with her needs. Aruna's husband died in 2005. They had 3 children, but one son died at the beach (perhaps a swimming accident), and one daughter (Bhavya's mother) took her own life. Bhavya's father abandoned the home, so Aruna is caring for this girl. They have many needs, so we're adding Aruna to our widows' list. Please pray for Aruna and little Bhavya (going into 5th grade).

New Sunday School Class

Below is a new Sunday School class (photo taken today), which we forgot to mention in a recent post about the different Sunday School classes we're a part of. Pradeep is a young college student who has a desire to work with the children. This Sunday School class is in a tribal village which is very near to his home; it started only a couple of weeks ago. Pray for this village, which we call the Karlapalem ST (scheduled tribe, one of the "low castes" in the demonic caste system of India). Only 3 or 4 of the adults in this small village attend the church services faithfully, but the children enjoy the children's meetings.

Promoted

Sister Krupamma, part of our widows & elderly program for over 2 years, passed away last week. In this situation, we feel that we can truly rejoice for her. When we met her around April 2019 (photo below may have been the first time some of us met her), she had already had one leg amputated above the knee because of diabetes. She had wounds on her other leg which were not healing properly. About 3 months later, the other leg was amputated. In December 2019, a rash motorcycle rider hit her cycle/wheelchair (don't know the correct name) as she and her husband were coming out of a church. She fell to the street, and was in serious condition. The doctors didn't think she would make it, but she bounced back. Though she suffered so much during the last few years of this short life, we have much hope in her eternal destiny. Psalms 9:18 says, "For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever."  Hallelujah! Pray for her loving husband (in photo; he took such good care of her), and her daughter.

Sunday School Classes!

Pray for all the various Sunday School classes that we're a part of. Below is Rani praying for the Sunday School class which she is leading in her village, sometimes on her road outside her home (as in this photo), sometimes on her porch, sometimes in the village church. It's a typical scene: while prayer is going on, there's some on their face before GOD (maybe sleeping), some looking around, some wanting to play, some observing, and last but not least, some or most will be praying. Whatever it may be, we're thankful for the precious children, and Seeds are being planted. Most of these children are from non-Christian homes, so it's a blessing that their relatives even allow them to come.
Rani has one SS class weekly, a children's minister named Bhaskara Rao has 8 classes a month in about 5 villages (it varies) which RHM sponsors, and Bro. Raju has started a weekly class in a village, which he and his wife are leading. "Sunday School" is the popular name for these children's meetings, although they are often conducted on other days of the week. Thanks for praying as the Lord puts these teachers and little ones on your heart.

Prayer Needed for Single Mother

The single mother in the photo below is Latha, selling mangoes to help provide for her family. Her daughters in the other photo below are Prasanna (13, left) and Sirisha (15). Latha has had some stomach problems for a few months, so went to a doctor for a checkup. They did x-rays and found a large growth in her stomach (don't know how large). Pray for Latha, who should be going for scans sometime this week. She seems to be a faithful young lady to the Lord, but is fearful. Trusting Him for total healing.

Little Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday to little Sitara, the girl in her mother's arms. Sitara (whose name seems to be the name of a musical instrument) turned 4 years old yesterday, the 1st of August. Her mother is Rahel (Rachel) and her little boy is Mahesh, in Brother Dan's arms. Pray for their Daddy, who needs salvation. If you give birthday wishes to Sitara, that's great, but the greetings may or may not reach them in their remote village. Our main purpose for these blog posts about their birthdays is for your prayers. I'm sure their parents & grandparents (if they are believers) would desire the same. Bless you, and THANKS!
