Orphans and Widows

Many Verses in the Bible talk about the Father's Heart, and the responsibility of His people, to care for the "orphans and widows". Psalms 10:14, 68:5, Hosea 14:3 and James 1:27 are only a few examples. But if we dig a little deeper into the Heart of our GOD, we can understand that orphans and widows aren't necessarily the most important of all human beings in His Heart, but are representative of ANY human beings who are broken, rejected and in desperate need of help because of their circumstances.

RHM helps a few orphans (no parents) and several semi-orphans (one parent died). Most of the others come from homes where one or both parents abandoned them, leaving them either with other relatives or a single parent. Still others have both parents, but are still in need of some level of assistance in their lives. About 75% of the elderly we're involved with are widows or widowers, either having no children to take care of them, or the children and grandchildren they have are unable or unwilling to care for them properly. Most of the other people on our elderly list are married (yet poor) or handicapped in some way.

For whatever reason, our Father has never placed a great abundance of funds into our hands to help more of the above people & children who are in need, but still we are so thankful that He would use us to reach some of these ones who are often overlooked and neglected in their own society. And we are very grateful for every donor and every person who makes the effort to help in this precious ministry, whether financially or in prayer. Praise the Lord!

Below is the 4th thru 10th grade students in the school where we're assisting 20 different children with educational needs. Some were absent on this particular day, but 15 of the kids the Lord has us helping are within this age group. Several of our girls would normally be in this photo, but were preparing to sing or do a skit during this 'Children's Day' function.
