Most of the schools in the state we do ministry in only conduct school through the 10th grade. After that there are 2 years of "intermediate", or sometimes called "Plus 1" and "Plus 2". After that they can go to "Degree College". The 10th grade is considered a major milestone, as the children cannot proceed in their education unless they pass all their subjects. In most schools, up until 10th even if they fail a subject they will be promoted to the next grade, an obvious effort to keep the majority of India children in school instead of them simply dropping out. The 4 children we sponsor in the bottom photo are taking their final exams THIS WEEK. Please pray for them, their names (left to right) Johnbasha, Mahima, Nageena and Pinky. There are other children who attend different schools who are also having their 10th grade exams this week: boys Srujan, Pradeep, Simha; and girls Chandrika and Sravani. For all these children, your donations are either fully or partially sponsoring their education.
