Nice House Gathering

Here in India, we often do not know about a particular day being a school holiday until the day (or sometimes night) before. Such was the case on August 25th, which was declared a holiday at some schools, but not until the 24th evening. So we quickly took advantage of the opportunity to gather some of the children (and a few adults) for a prayer gathering on the 25th. This time we met at one of the family's house where there is a verandah (porch) large enough for about 30 people. This photo consists mostly of people whom we are involved with in children's ministry, but there were also about 12 or more neighbors who attended. Here, the children have made a crown for Bro. Raju (whose name means "king") out of coconut leaves and some fingers. Continue to pray for our precious children's ministry.

Precious Girls, Precious Work

Girls before returning to their homes after an evening prayer service recently. From left: Asha Jyothi, little Kavya and her older sisters Soniya and Divya. We're very thankful for all these girls, the 3 sisters regularly participating in this ministry. Asha Jyothi came out of a local hostel, and she wasn't much interested in spiritual things. But once we started a weekly prayer meeting on Sunday evenings, she has attended every one of them, and her interest in Christ has come again. Praise the Lord!

Devotions After the Park

We had more than 15 children go to a park with us (swings, slides, etc.), and then went to a nearby home for devotions before taking all the children home. We so much enjoy being able to spend time with these children. Some are from non-Christian homes, so we don't have much opportunity to invest into their lives outside of these excursions with the children. Along with most every excursion, we make time for prayer, praise and sharing about JESUS with the little ones. Please continue to pray for the salvation and spiritual fruit of these children.

Happy Birthday Abhishek!

Marthababu (right), along with 15-20 others, is singing Happy Birthday to Abhishek, who turned 10 on August 11th. Abhishek (whose name means "anointed" or "power") is a sweet-natured boy. He lives with his grandmother and mother, both widows. The grandmother, though only around 50 years old, has too many health problems to work, so the mother works in the fields (agriculture) to help the family. Sometimes she leaves their village and goes to another village to find work. Pray for Abhishek and his family.

Not Too Old If the Desire is There

Below, Sister Pavani (standing) is with elderly in the village of Alluru having literacy class. Left to right are Meramma (married, but poor), Sugunamma and Ratna Kumari, both widows. We thank the Lord for the widows & elderly who still are willing to make the effort to learn how to read so that they can read their Bibles. That is their main motivation. They all grew up during a time in India (especially in the villages) when education was not readily available, and for many girls it was not encouraged. There were also limitations depending upon what "caste" they were a part of when they were young. Pray that the Lord will enable them to learn and quickly be able to use their reading abilities to study the Bible.

Precious Sunday School Children!

These little ones are watching Brother Bhaskara Rao do a puppet show in their village church. This brother conducts Sunday School for us in 5 different villages during the month, some once a month (for those churches that already have an established Sunday School class and teacher), and twice a month in churches where they need his participation more. Bhaskara Rao is a fulltime children's minister. Pray for the Sunday School ministry taking place in these 5 villages.

RHM August Newsletter

Please click onto the above link, which opens up the newsletter within Google Drive.
Thankful to get out another newsletter so that our donors and prayer partners can stay informed about some of what is taking place in India. Besides the info, there are prayer requests, praise reports, and some Scriptures to encourage or challenge your hearts.
Below are 15 precious boys, as well as some adults, who went with us on a recent trip to a place we call Peta. We had a great time with each other, and a great time singing, sharing the Word and praying together as well.
Bless you always!
