Kavya is very dear to our hearts, and she was very happy that we used an auto rickshaw to bring other children to her home for her 9th birthday on July 4th. She has 2 older sisters (in the group photo), but they are now staying with Sister Mary (right, holding little Keren, Brother Raju & Pavani's girl). Mary is caring for 5 of our girls in a rented home. Kavya stays with her single mother (father was abusive, so the mother left him and the state of India where they were living several years ago). Only one of the older girls in the photo has a father, and he also is not a responsible person, now and then leaving his family for weeks or months before returning. Kavya is now in the 2nd grade. The top photo is Kavya and Keren exchanging cake. Keren has attended many birthdays during her first year, so she knew how to do it. Please pray for Kavya.
