We have about 55 children now whom your donations are helping with education, the costs ranging from $100 to $280 a year, most of them above $200. With a few exceptions, these are not high standard schools, but the learning environment is usually much better in these private institutions compared to the government (public) schools, where the discipline is less and bad influences are usually more. Satan will try his best to get our children and youth away from parents and Godly influences, and he has a good opportunity through the school system. We have not seen home schooling as an option in India, although it is probably there somewhere. We've never even heard of it in the area where we do ministry (state of Andhra Pradesh). We put out information to see if our donors might help us with starting a Christian school of our own, but had very little response. So private schools seems to be the best option at this time (schools that don't require Hindu prayers, etc.). Once the children get to the college level, many are in govt colleges, but there is typically more discipline in the govt colleges versus the govt schools, which go up through the 10th grade. Below are children who study in one particular school in the town of Bapatla, the principal (far right) giving some financial concession for our 18 children who study there.
