Below, boys are enjoying lunch after a house gathering recently (like a church or prayer meeting, but at a home). Most of our prayers and Bible studies are at or in people's homes. The 2 boys farthest from the camera (one in each line) are not part of our children's ministry. The other 5 boys we are visiting regularly and very much involved in their lives. When I was part of a hostel for many years (a children's home which kept the children for most of the year, providing them with food, education, etc.), we saw the children many times during the week, sometimes daily. With the RHM children's ministry, we don't have a hostel for the children to stay in (too expensive for our budget, and too much govt interference). We go to where the children are at, usually with a single mother or grandmother. The children who still live with both parents also have various problems and some poverty. We're not able to see them as often as we would like, but most of them we will see once a week at their home, and once a week (or more) in some kind of prayer meeting. Many obstacles are there in this type of ministry, and more bad influences are in the children's lives. But our heavenly Father has put His love in our hearts for these children, and we are believing Him to touch their hearts deeply. We are seeing some good spiritual progress in some of their lives, and some we are not, but we are trusting in Him. Continue to pray. We cling to this Verse in 1 Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
